Audition Scoring Rubric – Percussion (This is what will be filled out when you audition)

Scheduling your audition – All wind auditions must be video recorded and emailed to Mr. Bieniek or Mr. Castonguay by Friday, April 10. Wind Ensemble percussion auditions should all be emailed to Ms. Waldner and we will have more info coming out about drumline auditions as we know more about what the balance of our school year looks like due to the extended flex learning time.

Performance notes:

Scales – Everyone (percussion and winds) must play the scales listed on the individual instrument audition sheet found below. You do not have to memorize and they should be performed at the quickest tempo you can, but keeping a consistent tempo and good tone is much more important than speed and range!

Musical Excerpt – Prepare the bracketed portions. Tone is most important!

Have fun preparing and we can’t wait to listen to all of you!
